London: Walking Tour
Tower Bridge Opening ! July 2004 -
I had a friend over from Malaysia this weekend so had an excuse to do all the touristy things in London that I had never had the chance to do before or had done too many years ago to count!
Essentially we did a walking tour, this is the route that we took:
Tube to Westminister
Walked up to Trafalger Square
Walked through the Mall towards Buckingham Palace
Walked through St. James Park
Arrived at Buckingham Palace too late for the changing of the guard (its at 1030 and 1600)
Then we walked back to Westminster passed Westminster Abbey (and the mad person climbing the railngs) passed Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
We then walked over Westminster Bridge to the side which has the London Eye on and got a boat from there to Tower Hill - this was really good really recommend that you do this and if you have a travelcard you get 1/3 off the price !! even better!
So at Tower Hill we had a walk around the outside of the Tower of London - we didn't go in as it was a bit too late in the day! and we were feeling a little weary!!
After this out stomachs were feeling a little empty so we headed off to Covent Garden to check out some of the shops and to get some muchies! We ended up in a nice Italian sitting outside which was really good ! excellent food after this our weary bodies deceided that they had had enough for the day so we head back to Paddington ..

It sounds a very tiring walk all that way, did you get plenty of good photos. The one of Tower Bridge looks good.
